Customs and Festivals

         Nepalese society has various types of customs and festivals.It is very difficult to separate customs from the festivals.Because people celebrate festivals according to their customs.A customs is directly related to the behaviours.Behavior of the social group decides the type of customs to be adopted.Social customs vary from country to country.The people of any country are known by their customs.The customs has its influence on dresses,dances and marriages.

       The different ethnic groups of Nepal have their own customs.Each ethnic group has its own customs, It also varies with the regions.The people living in mountain regions have different customs than the people living in terai regions.Dashain,Tihar,Gaijatra and Indrajatra are the important festivals of Nepal.Important festivals of Terai regions are Holi and Chhath.Lhosar is the main festival of sherpas,gurungs and tamangs.Local cultures include local songs,local dance traditions,customs,festivals,lifestyle etc.These days people are not taking proper care to their local cultures. We have already lost,some of our culture.Some of our cultures are in the process of dissapearing.
